His Thoughts!

Do Ants Have Souls?

I was sitting in the livingroom Tuesday and Justin came to me and asked, “Do ants have souls?” I wasn’t sure how to answer his question because it was a question I had to take time to think about. Even though it was something I’ve should have given thought to before responding, I immediately said “yes, I guess so.” I did not take my time to think about the question because Justin was starting to repeat the question again and explaining his process of thought. He said “Mom, I was in my room and there were ants by my window and I started to kill them. And as I was killing them I started to think that they could be my family, so I stopped. It also felt like I was killing someone in my family.” I was so perplexed. I really didn’t know how to respond. After thinking for hours I continued the discussion with Justin and told him, “Yes, ants do have souls. Just like people they die and new ones are born.” He responded back by saying “oh that makes sense. Well, I’m not gonna kill them anymore because they’re just like us.” All I could do was smile. He is himself in his own unique way.

  1. You can tell your son there’s usually a more peaceful way — like, if they’re the tiny sugar loving ants they won’t go anywhere black pepper has been scattered. Insects in general hate eucalyptus, garlic and clove — you can shake up the tea in spray bottle or dab the essential oils near their point of ingress.

Congratulations on raising such a loving and spiritually aware son! The ant people are known among many of our indigenous populations as wonderful allies.

    • Thank you! I’ll do that. He’s become vegetarian because of the idea of killing animals and watching various documentaries on the importance of eating from the earth.

Thank you. He wants to start a YouTube Channel about Kids and Spirituality.

We had a talk a few years back about souls and how he doesn’t sense them in the cemetery. He wondered if they were all with loved ones or just hanging out because they were not at home peace.

      • Well, unlike us they’re not limited in transport! It may be that his guides are blocking the experience due to the traumatizing nature of the modern death scenario. They’re showing me an older cemetary, in which the spirits are more settled, seasoned and peaceful — especially if it has, as they sometimes do, a section for children and babies in the back. He’ll be able to feel how innocently and peacefully they lived and died, and also the beautiful love their parents felt for them.

        • No, they are not like us 😊. If only we were able to transport the way the can. It could be. It is an older cemetery, very old. You’re right. It’s a cemetery that he seems to be drawn to every time we pass it on the way to my moms house. Is that what I should do? Should I take him to the baby part to tap in? He’s also drawn to other’s energy. Which I just recently got him some protecting stones and Palo santo.

        • Thank you! I thought that’s what it meant but I wasn’t sure. Thank you, I was a little apprehensive with him and the stones but as I noticed him evolving and picking up on things. I didn’t want to take a chance. I knew early on, he was going to be gifted like me- but in his own way, as we all are. I believe we were destined to be in this life together. I somehow knew at an early age that my child would change my life. And he has.
